???
Mysterious package in the mail today - old ephemera with a print/embossed image of a Wizard. Came from Mass - no return address. Anyone care to clue me in? I have a suspicion who... but not sure.

Hisashiburi...
Translation.... "long time, no see" - or in this case, write.
Twelve days since my last post? Where has the time gone?
Let's see ... it has gone here... making a messenger bag for my little guy's first day of preschool (which was the 14th - today~!) - because he wanted a bag that mommy made rather than a store bought one. So I recycled a pair of Daddy's jeans, gathered some scraps on hand, and added in a great space theme fabric with a daddy-designed felt rocket applique, and this is the result:
And this is the happy recipient - sporting the 3D glasses that his special friend Jill sent with a boatload of books and videos (trying to keep said kiddo happy and occupied so Mommy could sew on Labor Day weekend. It worked -kinda..)
So then Mommy got to work on this:
A great mesh bag (fiberglass screen from the hardware store coupled with more of the stellar fabric from the Messenger bag)... for swimming school!!! The first day was the 12th.
So while the Munchkin was at preschool and Mommy was at home cooling her heels - my friend Shellie came over and we worked on a dozen of these:
Oh - and while doing that, I also made this... from scratch (the sauce, not the pasta)... yummy!
It's good to be back! I will try not to stay away so long next time.

Girls Night
Shellie came over tonight for a bit of a "sew-in" - I told her to come empty handed and we "shopped" through my stash for some leftover bits to make her a Lazy Girl Wonder Wallet. This was her first ever Lazy Girl item as far as I know - and we had fun making both hers and mine. I showed her a few tricks I have learned over the years of making many of these - and foresee many more in her future.
I also took some of the leftovers from the FQ used to make my wallet and made a little pouch for my new cell phone.
Now I just need to find my package of black velcro and we can finish these all up.

Maggie wants to play
My friend Linda has a dog named Maggie -who's "helping" her with a giveaway on her blog - of CAT fabric.
I am sure my cat Maggie would just love to win it - since she loves sleeping (and shedding) on all my other fabrics!
It would be a great thing for my Maggie's 16th birthday -which is next week! Hard to believe she's sweet 16 (well, not so sweet when she is meowing at me at 3:00 in the morning!)
