However, since I did not want my 300th post to be part of the Phoenix Mystery Quilt series, I needed to come up with something today. So instead of napping while my son is "napping" (he's not, really, but that is another post for another day...) here I am trying to put coherent thoughts together (these are the times I am glad I don't work on Mondays)...and have a bit of 300th post fun.
So, we are going to play the shop hop game. On my way to my conference last Wednesday, I was able to stop at 2 quilt shops - and bought a bunch of stuff.
So we are going to play a little "Price is Right" game -I will describe what I purchased at these 2 shops and approximate yardages - and the person who guesses how much I spent and comes the closest (in the case of a tie, I will take the lower figure but you can go over and still win if you are the closest)...will win...something. I haven't figured that out yet, and frankly have come to the end of this little energy boost.
So guess away...
All guesses in US$ please - my brain is too tired to convert... but I will accept guesses from non-US participants.
Include the tax in your guess ... NY state - will let you figure out what that is...
Oh yeah - the hints....
I purchased:
enough yardage for a throw quilt top - including borders and binding but not backing or batting
a fun Halloween panel
5 fat quarters
one Micron pen
pillowcase fabric - cuff and body
three 1/4 yard cuts for turtle backs
1 yard for an eye-spy quilt for the Munchkin
and a jacket pattern...
...oh, and another 1/4 yard of some queenly fabric
to throw a wrench in the works -some, but not all, of this was on sale.
Happy Guessing!
PS - I guess I should set a cut-off date for guesses
- so since I went shop hopping last Wednesday, I will cut things off THIS Wednesday (October 8th) at 2:30 PM, which is about when I shifted from shop hopping mode to conference planning and executing mode.

$51.62 - how's that for a guess!?!
My guess is $85.14. Sounds like you got lots of fun stuff!
I guess $107.28. Sounds like it was a great trip. I too am dealing with a preschooler who doesn't want to nap these days and I think it is a harder adjustment for me than for her!
$57.50 - I'm thinking you got some GREAT deals ;^)
I'm going with $110.22 Now THIS was a fun game.
I'm going with 88.12. This is a fun game! I may have to do this when I go to Wisconsin in 10 days!!!
I am guessing $98.98...somehow I think you budgeted $100 to spend and were able to keep within your budget (something you did not get from your older sister who is trying hard to resist the temptation of all the new fabrics coming into the shop!)
So, when all is said and done, do we get a picture of your purchases?!?!
LYL MYM
Wow - this is almost like The Price is Right! But at least you are allowing people to go over.
I do not buy fabrics. (I am the non-quilting sister.) SO I'll just throw out a guess of $92.50, I agree with Sue that you are excellent at budgeting and staying within your budget.
And about bowling... I too have lousy scores (and havent bowled in AGES.) but once I did get 3 strikes in the 10th frame - - - and I STILL didn't break 100!!!!!
Love you sis!
Cindy
I say $63.92.
You used to call ME munchkin, so does that mean I am getting an eye spy quilt?!?! ;-) I've been replaced!!!
LOVE YOU! Your niece, Karen
My guess is $100. I was never good at this game show- Wheel of Fortune is more my cup of tea.
My guess is $67.43. Would love to see pictures of that great stuff!
