Design Wall Monday

The significant thing here is not WHAT is on my design wall (4Patches4Hope blocks), but the fact that I now HAVE a design wall.

A bit of a challenge, since I am in an attic with slanted walls and not much flat wall space, but a few foam insulation boards from the home improvement store cut to length by hubby, a top sleeve fashioned out of a few of the Munchin's receiving blankets, a long piece of elastic with suspender clips to "belt" the two foam boards together in the middle, and a piece of batting pinned up for my wall surface, and I am good to go!!

And the best part is I can easily collapse it down if need be.

Having a real design wall makes all the difference, doesn't it?! I have the same slanted ceiling challenge in my studio so I built mine with pcv pipes and a flannel tablecloth. It works but I really like the ones like yours made from foam insulation sheets. I can break mine down quickly but it is a pain to set up again.

My studio is in my attic, too. I usually use my floor space but then my puppy decides to help me arrange blocks ... that's usually not very successful. Love the color in these blocks.

Yay!!! I didn't know how awesome a design wall was until I made one. Love it!

How big are those blocks you have on there?

Happy Sewing!

My design wall is made of the insulation boards also. Very inexpensive, light weight so easy to move. I duct taped my boards together to make them "hinge" so I can fold them easily together to protect whatever is on it from the cats. They think the blocks hang there to tease them lol.

foam insulation board makes the best design walls. I just used packaging tape on the backside to "hinge" my two sheets. Its lightly tacked with some thin nails with big washers at the top of the wall. The ends rest on the floor. So far it hasn't fallen over!
